I am so glad I found this product. This review is coming in extremely late as I bought this either a year or two ago! I was having trouble keeping ants away from my cats food I don’t know why, but the scent of his dry food or wet food just bring ants no matter what I do! keeping water in the bottom is a fantastic deterrent for bugs getting in his food. I’m so so happy with this I’ve recommended it too many people who are also very grateful to have found this product. Highly recommend.!!!! easy to clean as well.

This thing works as intended. I was skeptical that the water moat was going to be too shallow and not wide enough. I ordered a bowl with a similar design on amazon and it looked great in the photos and descriptions, but the moat was so little that it barely held any water so it was essentially pointless. This one actually has a deep and wide moat, large enough that you don't have to over fill it. So no water spill messes on the floor when moving it around and you don't have to worry as much about the moat water instantly evaporating. The color is OK. I would prefer if there were different options though like black or gray. But if hospital gown blue is your thing, then you will love the color of this. The size of the dish is fairly large. You can hold a lot of food or water in it. It's not heavy, but it's heavy enough that on its own it doesn't really slide all over the floor and stays in place. I would absolutely recommend that you look no further. This is a great investment to help reduce or eliminate an ant infestation in your cat food.

I bought two of these ant-away pet food bowls for feral cats that live in a horse barn. The ants were a real problem and were contaminating the dry food. Since the cat food and water bowls are placed directly on the ground, the only way to get around the ant problem was to create a double bowl arrangement by placing a smaller bowl inside a larger one, then putting water in the larger bowl. This solution was less than perfect because if the smaller bowl touched the side of the larger bowl, the ants would just crawl over. The ant-away pet food bowls are designed with a fixed tough (moat) for the water. I have yet to see if the ants will float across the moat to the food. The bowls are an attractive blue color, very sturdy, and have two inner compartments for food/water. The bowls can be used for wet or dry food. The bowls are easy to clean, and sit flat and securely on a level surface. Best of all, the barn cats IMMEDIATELY investigated and started eating.
