I got this swimsuit in size 2-3T in the green checkerboard color for my almost 3yo daughter who is 36" tall, and just switched over to mostly 3T clothing. While the swimsuit definitely has a bit of length for my daughter to grow into, the suit is slim enough that she can wear it now without it looking baggy and awkward. Based on the fit for my daughter, I would say size down at least one size, but it will only fit if your child is on the slimmer side.As for the color and style, I'm a generally a big fan of this swimsuit! The "green" color is a mint green and is true to the photos online. It's a great color on my daughter, and the ruffles around the legs are adorable. It's not the thickest material I've ever seen on a swimsuit, but it's a nice medium weight that's good for the price. The front of the swimsuit is lined, which keeps it from being see through, but when wet I could see a little bit of skin color coming through the white checkers in the back (which is unlined). It's not enough to bother me, just something to note. I really appreciate the high neckline, since it prevents any accidental wardrobe malfunctions.There are two minor issues with this swimsuit that made this a 4 star item, instead of a 5 star one. First, I wish companies would stop sewing tags into the outside of toddler clothing. It looks terrible and isn't always easy to cut away. Second, the shoulder straps are just so long, and tying them in a double knot to keep them securely tied just looks awkward. I ended up cutting off the back set of straps, then sewing the front set into straight-across straps over my daughter's shoulders. She can now put the swimsuit on by herself, and there are no more massive, floppy bows on her shoulders!

Perfect swim suit for my toddler, she always gravitates to choosing this one! I like that the straps are adjustable since my toddler has a very long torso and a lot of one pieces don't fit her. For reference she is 3 feet tall and 32 pounds and the 2-3T fits her perfectly.
