I did not like the chain it was too thick and short. I really like the lock because of the cover for the keyhole. I'm in a very cold winter climate and I have not had a problem with it freezing.

La uso para una puerta exterior y una reja. Se siente pesadita. El tiempo dirá si tanto cadena y candado resisten la intemperie

Each of the two locks I used were exposed to the elements. They may work as advertised if they are sheltered outside from the elements such as on a porch under a roof.My locks rusted very quickly to the point of not being able to lock again. I was sure to keep the cap tightly over the area where the key is inserted each time I was finished using the lock.Just a few minutes ago, in the snow and freezing temperatures, I discovered that moisture found its way under that cap and froze the whole area. I would have to apply heat to be able to insert my key. I just hope it did not rust so deeply that I will not be able to open the lock.

This product is the ideal type that i was looking for. It being waterproof, makes me not having to worry about the chain and padlock developing rust due to rainfall. Price was ideal.
