I purchased 3 for my kids for a recent trip to the Bahamas. The brim of the hat is wide and kept their faces and necks out of the intense summer sun.The hats have adjusters, which made it possible for this one design to fit my kids aged 4-8.And the best for last! The brim of this hat holds its shape and does not sag even when wet. I mean, even if it's dunked-underwater-soaking wet! Which makes it a perfect hat for the beach, pool, pretty much any form of water play.I'm hoping my kids don't grow out of this hat too soon...

The product is as described. It's adjustable and good for sun protection AND he actually leaves it on! It's a nice weight, so not too heavy, not to flimsy.

This is a great summer hat and I hope due to it being adjustable we’ll be able to use it for a few summers. My son likes to wear it and it protects his head, ears and neck. If it gets wett it dries quickly. I’d definitely buy again.

Cute style, fit my almost three year old perfectly. It seemed cool -ish? Hard to tell in Florida summer heat, is one ever cool in any hat? I liked the venting for airflow and how lightweight this is, which probably contributes to how fast this thing dries out. The sun coverage was also mostly decent. Those being the positives, on to what made me decide to return and keep looking for a better hat.I was looking for an all around good safari style bucket hat which would provide good sun coverage, stay on his head in the breeze/not flap in his face when windy, and that would repel water if it was to sprinkle so his head wouldn't be drenched under the hat. My son has recently become enamoured with the idea of being a dinosaur park ranger thanks to his two year straight love of dinosaurs, love of JP/JW, and most recently his love of a father/son YouTube duo who park ranger at their own "dino park." Bonus that the hat would look like the ones my husband and I wear when we are out at the Disney parks or taking walks as my son is often excited to wear my "park ranger" hat. I was also looking for something that would eventually go with him to Backyard Explorer vest he's getting for his birthday and this seemed to fit the bill, so I gave it a shot.He was super excited when I showed this to him, his own park ranger hat! He didn't want to take it off and loved wearing it. One of my issues stem from this hat's brim being extremely flimsy. It was packaged fine, but just kind of flopped in my son's face most of the time he wore it making it a bit annoying. It could be kind of flopped back out of his way, but don't expect this to hold it's shape in the face of any kind of noticible breeze. The other issue, and perhaps this is more my fault for just assuming since I read people used this at beaches and in pools, was the fact that this hat cannot stand up to any water at all. Like even flicking a couple drops of tap water on the thing and it went straight through revelaing whatever was underneath like the material was very thin. Looking for a hat that somewhat repels water, like the typical adult booney sun hats my husband and I wear, apparently isn't easy. My other issue for this hat stems from the chin strap. It's made of a short, thin peice of Velcro that's meant to loosely hang under the child's neck. Good for in case the child gets the strap under their neck and needs to break free, not so good if you want to secure the hat to the wearer in case of a stronger breeze or for a more snug fit. It hangs too low to aid in a better fit for the wearer it's designed for.I'd recommend this hat for maybe typical play or on days where there's no wind and just sunny, still air. If you think this might get wet and you don't want your kid's head soaked, or you're looking for a good hat to take hiking, I'd keep looking. Once the brim gets soaked with water it just flops heavily in their face and doesn't keep its shape at all. For the weather here in Florida, this hat doesn't measure up except for maybe the cooling vents and lightweight feeling not contributing to overheating.
