Instead of a cigar box I tossed it into an omnibot I had laying around. Easy build and the sound is good enough for what it is.

I bought this kit because my niece wanted to learn guitar so, I gave her my old Spectrum amp. That left me without a amp so I figured I'd make my own. I used a Hobby Lobby box with the components in the kit. Pretty easy to put together but, biggest thing I can complain about is the speaker has oval holes instead of circular holes which make it really hard to get the speaker center/square with the box.

instructions are pretty good but the input jack needs more defining. just an observation. had to switch around wiresa bit expensive but can't find it cheaper in canada with my limited electronic abilities. I made two matching mini cabinets with an ab y pedal. love it looks boutique and unique and original. the sky 's the limit. love the sound and the look. it rocks. good little project to learn on. thanksTim

I ordered this kit as part of a university electronics class. The parts came quickly and were in nice condition. It was very easy to set up and solder everything together, very no-hassle. My only issue was that the ground point was a little small and difficult to solder everything onto if you went for some of the optional features.Once completed, it packs a very nice punch for a 9 volt battery, and sounds pretty clean to boot. I haven't played with the adjustable tone pot, so I cannot speak much for that. The only thing I would change is that it did not come with screws to attach the battery mount to the housing. Other than that, a very easy DIY project with a lot of utility for the price.
