Don't get this. It sounds alright but it'll literally fall apart after a month of use. The reason why it's so cheap is because it's cheap.

Excelente Material del Tambor, lo único malo es que las tiras blancas que viene y ayudan a sostener el tambor se salen, no sirven

Having two boys in band percussion requires them to play pretty much every instrument in percussion. So, I try to accommodate them at home with some affordable options. They practice on this snare and I think it sounds pretty good. The stand is a bit short...probably meant for a sitting drum kit. I wish it was adjustable to a taller height for kids who are in marching band like my boys. Other than having to find a short table to put it on to get the right height for them, this snare is a great price and a good practice drum.

This is an excellent drum and many respects better than a high end drum. A high end drum you will be cautious of taking with you because you will be afraid of theft, damage, etc., while a inexpensive nice drum will go with you everywhere!! So, which is better, one that is used and loved or one that sits at home well protected?I wanted a drum to use in my travels in my motorhome. That required it be easy to store, take up little space, and be something I am willing to use in any type of location. This drum certainly fits that requirement. It packs down into a very small foot print, is fast to put together, but to play, and sounds great!! So, forget the “beginner” listing and instead consider it a low cost, well made drum set!The only thing low end in my opinion is the drum sticks! Do yourself a favor and invest the time to go out and get fine grit sand paper and do an excellent job of sanding them. Or, if you do not want to invest the effort, buy a good set of drum sticks! The inexpensive set of gloves are there because this set of sticks will cause problem quickly if you use them much. There are no instructions included but there are lots of videos available online and if you use the pictures on the website, you can easily assemble the stand (comes in two sections that just slid together). If you need help with how to adjust the drum, there are great videos available online for this.If you are looking for a fun drum set that you will be willing to take with you anywhere, then this is the set to get! I highly recommend it.

Giving and instrument a titles in relation to skill level i feel is more of a subjective thing. The only instrument I have really noticed a difference is an alto saxophone where the upper register is easier to play. With a snare drum such as this super nice one from the Lolunut company, I feel it can work for beginners but still have advantages for seasoned drummers.I feel the advantages of using a beginners or student snare for novice or advanced artists is in the larger design which naturally gives you a better rim. For jazz people like myself I am always incorporating the metal rims of drums with emphasis on the snare.I noticed when I hit the rim with the snare loose it gave me a more fuller rim hit than my snare that is triple the price of this. The Lolunut brand is great at making affordable percussion instruments. This is my third time ordering an instrument from this brand. I now trust this company to provide a unique instrument that is sturdy while not burning a hole in your pocket. As for the drum skin - it has a nice deep sound. I always place mutes on my snares which works well with a thicker snare such as this one. I really likes the sound achieved by placing a thin cotton shirt over the skin with the head loosened.I have just mentioned two different ways this snare was used with the head loose but I also am very happy with it tightened. With the skin tight I like the hollow sound it gives off and especially with a bit of delay on the drum mic when recording.I have messed around with this all day during my routine home recording session and I am satisfied with all of the results. This comes with a nifty travel case that has two different handle locations that allows you to carry it flat or on its side. This comes with a reliable stand that has an extra support contraption underneath the arms that hold the drum. I have never seen an additional support beam with fastener like that before which is nice. This also comes with a set of drumsticks as well as gloves to prevent calluses or blisters- even splinters depending on how hard you play the drums. In conclusion I am super happy with this snare and recommedn this as a person who has been fiddling with drums for about thirty years.
