You can either use this for fighter fish, but I used this to separate the baby fishes from the main tank. Easy to clean, easy to handle

I keep my healthy bettas in 5+ gallon tanks because anything less is cruel, but when I need to do a big water change or need to use a hospital tank, I transfer them to a small 1 gallon vase for treatment or temporary hold. This filter works well on the circular vase - it fits nicely. I did have to put a small piece of adhesive foam on the back so that it sits straight and doesn’t vibrate so loudly against the glass. It’s not the most sturdy filter - it does feel cheaply made, like it could break pretty easily if a snail got caught up in it, but thankfully I only use this temporarily so I’m not too worried about durability. I do wish they made a bigger circular filter to fit my 5 gallon bowl! That would be awesome and look nicer than the sponge filter I currently have in there.

This pump/filter installs is pretty convenient. It fit my circular top fish tank just fine. There is a channel for the power cable to run up and over the lip of the tank. The pump/filter itself isn't lit in case anyone else is confused about it as well, the pictures kind of make it look like it might be. While the pump itself isn't very loud while running it does tend to vibrate which then translates into a sort of humming noise.I tend to leave the pump off at night because I worry that my little betta fish isn't accustomed to that much movement or water current. There is an adjustment knob to control the flow of the water, and I tend to leave that towards the minimal setting.That said, the most annoying part is that with the pump being off for a while (like overnight) when plugging it back it doesn't just work. The pump is running and working but it doesn't manage to siphon the water up the inlet tube. I did find that pressing on the sponge, for whatever reason, seems to help the water rise up the inlet.Overall it's a decent pump and once going tends to work well. I think I will have to look at a way to dampen the vibrations of the acrylic against the glass. I imagine the noice would be much more noticeable to the poor fish in that little tank, then again she never complains so...
