This bowl was much smaller than I thought it would be, the cats often fight while eating. I decided to go back to using 2 separate bowls

My dog likes to take the cable in her mouth and then let it drop out of her mouth on the sides and pick it up to eat it again. Lord knows why? But at the end of her meal there would be a few kibbles scattered around and then the automatic vacuum would suck them up which is a waste of food as dog food is expensive these days! With this bowl she can scoot the food around in the bowl and doesn't take it all in her mouth and spit it out anymore. It also slows her down a bit as she has to root around for the food in the bowl. This was a smart choice for my dog. I do wish that the sides were just a tad taller. But it does the job well for my 13 lb Fox terrier.

When I first got this six cup low water bowl, I thought it would not be used. However, I have a newly diagnosed cat with diabetes and one of the signs of it is that the cat will lie down to eat and drink. He had started drinking lying down stretched over his other water bowls. It was only when I searched out why was he lying down to eat and drink that it came up as a sign of diabetes, so much to learn. So, even if strange looking, he easily drinks his water and his low profile cat food bowls are back out. I had just purchased tall bowls supposedly being better for digestion. I keep extra water bowls out as well, but he lays and drinks out of this one, who knew. All water bowls should be cleaned daily, period. Fresh water, or in his case, filtered water, but is of great importance for all cats. This bowl also has great little rubber feet, so it does not move around. I am very happy to have found this for my cat.
