We used this pet carrier for a long car and airplane travel with our cat. She tried to escape during the flight however the pet carrier was sturdy. Although she did some small holes in the mesh with her claws, she couldn't tear it apart.

This is a fantastic carrier for airlines. I bought SO many and this was the best. It is the most sturdy. The canvas was much thicker and stiffer than any of the others. My cat was 11 lbs and it held its shape well enough to carry him, put it on top of my suitcase, etc. Multiple access options. The top has both a mesh zipper and a canvas piece to put over the top. Only one side expands but I found that if there are more expandable sides than that all the extra folds take up too much space inside and there is no airplane situation in which you will have space to do more than 1 side anyway. The pocket is nice. I was delivering a rescue cat to his new home and the carrier stayed with him. But if I ever needed to fly with a cat again I would absolutely buy another even though I already have 2 or 3 others to choose from .

I have an 8 lb cat and this worked well for him. It has adequate space for him to sit casually in it and the expandable side pocket provides space for him to turn around. It's well made and does fit under most airline seats, though you may have to scrunch the top down a little bit to get it to fully slide under a seat. If you are looking for a doft-sided pet carrier, then this is a good choice

I like how it is made and very portable. It was easy to transport my cat to the vets in. I just wish it had more stability in the frame. Other than that it’s a very good quality.
