First it's very confusing because I assumed my tank was acrylic and got the magnet that said it was for acrylic. Then when it arrived the box said "Not fit for acrylic tank" and that it was "For up to 0.6"/15mm glass". Thankfully my tank was actually glass. Unfortunately it's left scratches if I'm not too careful, The magnet is weak and less than 7 months later it's no longer effective.

The unit is too small even though I ordered large. The outside piece comes off so I have to put a hand in the water to steady it. My Mr. Clean miracle sponge works better for cleaning...

I ordered this after specifically selecting the ACRYLIC TANK option.I received an item that specifically states GLASS FISH TANK ONLY.I initiated an exchange, believing I had simply been sent the wrong one, but my replacement was identical.Note to seller: do not offer options of acrylic vs glass if you do not truly offer those options.I decided to give this a try, as my tank desperately needed a clean, and I wouldn't be upset if it got scratched as I'm planning a tank upgrade next month as it is.It works OK. Not great, but not bad. You just have to go slowly and over the same spots several times, but it will clean most of the algae.If you don't want to risk trying this on your acrylic tank, I would opt for a different brand. Mine was fine, but, as I said, I wouldn't have been upset with scratches since I'm planning an upgrade soon anyway.
