This installed easily and works great. I put it in my daughter's 1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle. Needless to say the car did not have a usb port. I checked behind the dash and drilled a small whole for install and wired it in via a couple of taps.

Installed this in the console of my 2006 Toyota 4Runner right beside the Aux input jack. Looks like it was always there. I like the sockets glow when the power is on. I can use it to charge my iPod and my phone.

First off, this will be larger than a standard cigarette socket hole in American cars. A little filing or sanding with a Dremel does the trick. Just go slow and test often. After that the nut will snug up against the back and hold it tightly in place.
